Castle of Miramont

The castle of Miramont

was most probably built in the Middle Ages by the lords of Capendu

Standing on a promontory, it overlooks superb scenery of the Aude valley and hills of the Minervois area.

The ruins are composed of a quadrangular dungeon and high and low level surrounding walls. They have been recently restored.

The Fonts of the Alaric

Located in the mountain of Alaric, oddly shaped limestone from the beginning of the Tertiary period gave the name Stoups, geological curiosities. The water is introduced into the cracks, froze and split their bases, creating these curious clams. Bénitiers four are listed, all within meters of each other.

To get there, take the road to Monze. After passing over the highway, at the end of the first bend, turn left toward the river la Bretonne. Once over the bridge, three paths arise. The right leads to the naturist site, the left to benching, the center after twenty-five minute climb achieves the Stoups.
